We do it all the time

You might ask yourself what is it that we do all the time? Well, we wonder a lot. We wonder why things are going a certain way in our lives. We wonder why it seems that there is no rhyme or reason for things to be going on like they are around us. Now I know those are certainly things I wonder about all the time.

Now, like you, I also wonder about other things that don't have the immediate effect on my life. I wonder sometimes are there really that many people who think things are going well? That losing freedom and control of our lives is simply a good thing.

As I pause for a moment to consider what I have just noted, I find myself knowing exactly what the problem is and it is indisputable. People in general have no purpose or reason in their life. They are going through the motions of living from birth to death and doing so simply to have existed. To put it another way, they see no reason they are here and no idea of what will happen when their life is over.

You know as I think about that for a minute I guess if I didn't know what I would do,then I might well be in the same boat with so many others.

Have you ever thought about how things might be if we all had a common interest and focus? You might think we do but in reality we honestly don't. People do align themselves with others with whom they agree. It can be about anything but often it is not about a truly important thing.

The important things to agree about have truly life and death value. Life value in what we do and have here in this world. Eternal value in what we will do and where we will be eternally. The eternal idea is one that people of almost all backgrounds struggle with and that is because they believe or follow lies.

The deceiver of the world is Satan and he will do anything he can to deceive people. He does it to everyone and it is up to the individual to put themselves in a position to deal with the deception. A strong spiritual life founded in Jesus Christ is where everyone needs to be. In God's Word, following His Holy Spirits guidance and praying for direction and help each day. Scripture reminds us in 1 John 4:4 that-

...greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

It is hard not to see that the reason we have such chaos and confusion is that the spirit of darkness is so pervasive in the world. He is at work and often not having to work very hard because of the spiritual naivety of people. If you are a believer, then you need to be growing in your faith and trusting God. A favorite Scripture at the church I am currently assisting is Proverbs 3:5-6 where we read that we should-

5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

It is true that as a Christian if we will embrace God's Word, listen to His Holy Spirt, and live this life endeavoring to be an example of His faithfulness, we can have a blessed life. There will be illness, trouble, and matters that will tax our spirit. Yet, He will be constant in everything we face.

I love the way Paul described it in 1 Corinthians 1:9 and using the Amplified Bible it says-

9 God is faithful [He is reliable, trustworthy and ever true to His promise—He can be depended on], and through Him you were called into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

Now that is what we hold to brother and sister. God is faithful and we rely upon and put our hope in Him no matter what we face or the enemy throws at us.

In God's Grace,
