It has been a week since the election. As has been said by so many it has not been certified by the states, counting and recounting continue, lawsuits have been filed and there will be more to come.
Now that’s the jest of where we are and yet I wonder how we got to this point? Listen, I know how we got to this point as to the election but I mean how did we get to this point in our history?

We were founded as the Constitutional Republic we are with a democratic approach as to how we do business as a nation. These are simple facts we learned in civics classes in high school or did we? In a pure democracy, the majority rule there 50 plus 1 make the decision. That is fine for them but what about the other 49?
Do you remember when you were growing up and you wanted to do something that your friends were doing and your parents said no? I do and it happened often. I respected my parents and sought their direction and their approval for what I did. There were times I would ask and the answer was no because they knew it was not the best thing for me to do. So I would argue my case “but everyone else is going” (not actually true but you get the idea). They would say “if everyone else was jumping off the roof would you?” Of course, my answer was no I might get hurt. I knew that so I would not do it.
We are pretty much at that point now. There are a bunch of people who have voted to go in a direction in which I personally have no desire to go. Why do we have to change who we are and what we do? This Constitutional Republic has done well for all of us, thank you very much. Because what they want cannot exist in our form of government. It doesn’t work and no matter how hard they try it will not. They will tell us it will but that is a lie whether they meant to lie or not.
I read recently that a nationwide mask mandate might be coming in the months ahead. Governors would be compelled to agree to such an order. If they won’t then they will go to the local governments and mayors to have it implemented. Interesting that states' rights which is a constitutional assurance will then prevail. Did you hear the one about the mask mandate in California for Thanksgiving and Christmas 2020? Check it out as it is absolute lunacy.
Folks, we are in trouble as a nation and I, like you, have no idea what to do about it but I do know who holds tomorrow. So as I pray for my family, friends, and this great nation, my prayer is Lord be merciful unto us.
I have preached and trusted the Word of God as a pastor. Today, as always, I acknowledge Him and follow the dictates of His Word. In 2 Chronicles 7:14, there is a verse you are certainly familiar with-“if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land”.
So today, as every day, I will humble myself and pray and seek God’s face. Turn from and confess the sin in my life knowing He will hear and forgive my sin and heal this land. He said He would and I for one trust the one who holds tomorrow. What about you?
