The other day I started to write a blog and as I wrote about some observations I was having at that time, the platform I use to write and publish the blog failed. How badly did it fail, you ask? Miserably, the auto-save feature failed to save the blog. Everything froze and when it finally came back up it was gone.
That instance reminds me that it is important to hold onto the things that matter in life. Relationships, beliefs, and so much more are important to be handled carefully. It is important to saving those regularly. In a relationship, if we haphazardly handle it, there is the possibility it could be lost. That belief, if not secured, can be lost from us and to our own peril. I was recently talking to someone and the conversation allowed me to share about Jesus Christ. At that time, I told the person that if they don't know what they believe they will fall for anything. That is true of all people.
In many ways, this is where we are as a world today. There are too many who do not know what they believe and therefore they fall for anything. Conversely, there are those who believe in things that are wrong, yet they are committed 100%. Can or will they be convinced otherwise, well that we do not know but we can hope and pray they do.
As I was reading Scripture this morning I was in Exodus. The chapters I was reading are the account of Moses and Aaron as they go to Pharoah in order to have the people of God released by Pharoah. God instructs them as to what to say and do. However, Pharoah hardens his heart and will not allow them to leave. I mean when you read the account of all that occurred in Egypt because of his hard heart it is terrible what God does.
In Exodus 9:14-16 NLT you read that God has sent them back to tell Pharoah that-
“If you don’t, I will send more plagues on you and your officials and your people. Then you will know that there is no one like me in all the earth.” “By now I could have lifted my hand and struck you and your people with a plague to wipe you off the face of the earth. But I have spared you for a purpose—to show you my power and to spread my fame throughout the earth.”
There is an important point to note when considering this in Scripture. We see it in verse 16-
I have spared you for a purpose—to show you my power and to spread my fame throughout the earth.”
In this and in every reference to the hardening of Pharoahs'sheart, it is hardened because God does wants to show His power and so He will be known as God. As believers, we often say that God works in mysterious ways. He does and it is always for His Glory and for Him to be known. I hope that you are able to handle what God does and how He does it because there are probably some times when you just don't understand. I will be the first to admit that is true. The longer I walk this earth the more I am in wonder of God and how He faithfully works so that He is seen as who He is, God.
There are some folks in this world from history past who have found out that they were not all they thought they were while here. There are those today and those who will come later if the Lord allows, who will also find they were not as important or powerful as they thought. He is God and we are not.
I would hope that everyone would accept Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. I tell everyone I have the opportunity to about Him and His saving grace. Many will believe and accept the free gift of salvation but there are many who will not. That burdens me but there is only one thing I can do and that is tell everyone as I have the opportunity that Jesus Christ is the way the truth and life. That they must trust in the Lord because He is God and they are not.
Now I think that most people who read this blog are Christians. That is not just an identification but a truth. That you have accepted God's gift of life through faith is Jesus Christ. If you have, then hallelujah ,and if not then I would hope that today you might receive God's free gift of eternal life.
In Romans 10:9 Paul wrote-
9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
Take the time right now to do what Paul has said so that you might have eternal life.
In God's Grace,
