A thought to ponder-Reflection and observation

Updated: Dec 13, 2019

Each day as I begin my day I am on a "Journey through the Bible" with our church family. We began with the Book of John and read 4 chapters each day. Currently we are in the Book of Leviticus and if you are familiar with it you know that there are very specific things God said that covered very interesting topics and situations they would face.

After I read I spend time praying which causes there to be times of reflection and observation. When considering for example what I have just read or the events of the world today, they all cause me to remember how great our God is and His awesome love for man.

Personally I try to stay away from anything more than knowing what is going on in our country and world. I find that if I spend to much time there, as I believe to many do, it distracts me from what I need to be doing "as unto the Lord". Please understand I am well aware of the political and world landscapes and because I am I believe we are truly in the last days. In Revelation 22:20 as John concludes what has been revealed to him we read He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus! So I am told by Jesus I can pray "Come quickly Lord Jesus". Now I do but when I or you do so we are probably doing so selfishly. It is like "Lord, I don't want to have to put up with this stuff". However, it is important to remember that when we do see Jesus come all those who have not received Him as Savior and Lord will be left behind. Do I want Him to come back? Yes, but in the meantime using Jesus example "I must be about My Father's business".

It is easy to become distracted in life by life. Take time for reflection and observation each day, it will serve you well.
