God Is God And We Are Not

As I daily consider my Lord and God, I am awed at who He is and that He loved me so much. Loving me so much that He sent His Son to die and rise again. So, I can have eternal life with Him in a new heaven and new earth.
Genesis 1:1 NKJV provides for the history of Creation when it declares-
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
Psalm 14:1 NKJV says that-
The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God.” They are corrupt, They have done abominable works, There is none who does good.
God does not have to prove His existence simply because He is and in Psalm 50:11 NKJV He says-
…You thought that I was altogether like you;…
We are not and we should recognize and proclaim that He is the Supreme Being and 1 Chronicles 29:11 NKJV it proclaims that-
Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, The power and the glory, The victory and the majesty; For all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours; Yours is the kingdom, O Lord,
He is the Creator and Ruler of all that is and Isaiah 40:28 NKJV tells us that-
Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable.
He is the Self-existent One and we see in Psalm 90:2 NKJV He was-
Before the mountains were brought forth, Or ever You had formed the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.
Thus, God is perfect in power, goodness, and wisdom. He is God and man still today continues to make himself the god of his life. Why is there hate and evil in the world? Because man is making himself god in his own life. The position of God in this world does not rest upon man but upon the One who already has that position. The Supreme Being, the Creator and Ruler, the Self-existent One.
I paused in writing this blog and as I was praying as I went to bed that night the words of the great hymn of the faith “How Great Thou Art” came to my mind. I focused on the words and meaning of those words.
O Lord my God,
When I in awesome wonder,
Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made;
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!
We know how great He is and sing His praise. We do so because God is just, and Paul noted in Acts 17:31 NKJV that-
because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead.”
God is loving and we read in Ephesians 2:4-5 NKJV-
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,
5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),
God is truth and we see in John 14:6 NKJV-
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
God is also holy, as we see in 1 John 1:5 NKJV-
This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.
God shows compassion, and we see in 1 Corinthians 1:3 NKJV as Paul declares-
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
God is mercy, and in Romans 9:15 NKJV we see this truth-
For He says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whomever I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whomever I will have compassion.”
God judges’ sin, and the Psalmist recognized this truth of God in Psalm 5:5 NKJV-
The boastful shall not stand in Your sight; You hate all workers of iniquity.
God also offers forgiveness and again Psalms 130:4 NKJV show us that-
But there is forgiveness with You, That You may be feared.
All of this because of the grace of God. Paul said in Romans 5:17 NKJV-
17 For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.)
God’s
Riches
At
Christ
Expense
That amazing grace!
It is because of that amazing grace we are privileged through Christ to experience and know how great God is every day. As I was praying, after having written these words of the hymn “Grace, Grace, God’s Grace” came to mind-
Marvelous grace of our loving Lord
Grace that exceeds our sin and our guilt
Yonder on Calvary's mount outpoured
There where the blood of the Lamb was spilt
Then that powerful chorus:
Grace, Grace God’s Grace
Grace that will pardon and cleanse within
Grace, Grace God’s Grace
Grace that is greater than all our sin
We live in God’s grace every day. There is nothing we can do to make God love us more and nothing we can do make God love us less, that is grace.
Grace is God’s unmerited favor. Undeserved because of our sin before Him, but He looks beyond what is deserved. Grace has been said to be God’s favor toward the unworthy or God’s benevolence on the undeserving.
As you can see today, this has been a few days in the making. A couple of nights and time spent in prayer and God’s Word. Most importantly for me this week has been the focus on Him. Not me and not the terrible world in which we live but the One to whom we live in His marvelous grace.
Some of you may remember that several years ago I had a radio broadcast. If not, that is certainly understandable. My reason for mentioning that is because we needed a name for the broadcast. After much prayer and thought the name, “In God’s Grace” came to my mind and heart. I even began and continue to this day to sign as you see here today with the salutation “In God’s Grace”.
Our God means everything to me, and it’s only because of His grace I can come to you today.
In God’s Grace,
