Ever wondering about people

The history of man dates back to the Book of Genesis. In the accounting of the beginning, we read of God’s work in making from nothing this world in which we live. In that early portion of Scripture, we find His creation of Adam and then later of Eve.

We read in Genesis‬ ‭1:26‬a -27 ESV‬‬ that we are made in their image-

“Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.

“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.”

Suffice it to say that for this purpose today, man (mankind) was created by God. Mankind made in His image, to which there can be differing views, but most agree that it is not specific to our appearance. That is good because we know that when it becomes about appearance that is what man looks at but God looks at the heart. Thus I have always believed that we are made in His image in the spiritual sense. In John 4:24 ESV, he records the words of Jesus who tells us that “God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.””

‭‭

In creating mankind, He gave us a body which is designed for us on the earth that He made to function on and traverse around. So we are a spiritual creation, with a physical body and we are all different beyond those two common bonds of the spiritual and the physical. So where did or do we go wrong? What is it that causes conflict in His creation? Is it climate change? Is it racism? Is it CRT? Is it social injustice? Is it any of the list of things we hear about daily? Well, no it is not one of or any of those things or even the combination of them all.

Now, you might right now be saying to yourself “I’m not sure where this going but I don’t think it is the right direction?” Hear me out before you cast this aside. This is a very complex world in which we live. The other day I had problems with my cell phone. It is 2 models old so about 2 years old. I remember something our daughter-in-law Amanda told me once about this type of thing, she said “they are designed to fail so at some point you will have to get a new one”. She is right. The operating systems they have us install seem to be designed to enhance service but they also go beyond the devices capability of supporting. Now seriously, it sounds like I know what I’m talking about, doesn’t it? You see, if you logically follow this out, that is probably exactly what is going on.

We began by recognizing that God made mankind and the world in which we live. He created us and we certainly have learned how to adapt to the world we live in over our history. God’s Word provides us a very clear understanding of how we are to live. The problem we face today and in actuality is one where mankind has been changing the operating system. Over history mankind has changed the manner in which God put the world together. We are and will eventually reach a point in which this world cannot handle anymore updates in the operating system. When that happens it all crashes. Let me make this clear for all, we cannot stop this world from crashing. This crashing will be when the Lord God says it is over. When Jesus comes back for His bride. When there are wars with Satan and his demons. There will be a time one day when there will be peace on earth but not until God says so.

I am awed at the inability of some to not see what is happening in the world today and not to realize it is wrong. Probably most or all of those don’t know Jesus as their Savior and if they do they are certainly not adhering to Jesus teachings or the Word of God. I find myself ever wondering about people. Honestly, that has been one of the things I enjoy, watching people. I watch because I learn a lot about people. I have learned and am still amazed at the gullibility of people. Earlier I mentioned how it is possible to see something through if you logically follow what is going on.

A good friend today mentioned that there are many things making their way into the church today. He was speaking of things that can and are harming the church. I was reminded that it is because so many believers are spiritually and Scripturally living below their privilege. Missing out on what God truly has for them for them, to live out the purpose God has for them. We don’t know what that is in the beginning but it is achieved by each day beginning by spending time with Him in His Word and prayer.

In ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:31-32, 34‬ ‭NKJV Jesus says-

‬‬””Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”

So, as you finish today and prepare to begin your day my hope is that this will be a thought you ponder.

In God’s Grace,
