A little different tone?

This particular blog may take on a little different tone than usual. I’m not positive on that as I begin to write but I need to get that point out of the way in case that ends up being what happens.

With that said, let me begin by saying that I am probably a lot like you right now. Confused, concerned even contemplating what‘s next. That is not simply about all of the crazy stuff that has happened in the past week or, so but rather in light of it. Things have been crazy and moving at a speed that seems almost beyond comprehension.

If you have read my blog for any period of time, you know that I am a Christian. That Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior. That I love Christmas and celebrate a Risen Savior Christ Jesus my Lord at Easter. Being a believer is who I am. I have certain political and personal leanings just like you. Love the beach and playing golf with our grandson (Thursday is coming). Getting in the motorhome with Elaine and taking a trip (got one planned as I go to do a pastors conference elsewhere in the state). BTW, planning a big one this year to celebrate our 50th anniversary but I digress. Like you, there are things that demonstrate and define who we are, who I am.

Now let me be clear in what I am about to say. It comes from my heart as I have watched, read and listened, as have you, to all that is going on in our country lately. I must be honest and candid that I do not like any of it from elections, to demonstrations, to the things I hear and see going on because I feel it is all ripping at the very fabric of our nation. The essence of who and what we are as these United States of America.

My fears and concerns are mine and may or not be in line with yours. That is OK and only goes to strengthen the truth that we are all different. As to social media,it is something I use to communicate the message of Jesus Christ. I did a YouTube this morning and clearly presented the plan of salvation. Encouraging any who see it, and make a decision, to personally contact me to talk about the decision. There is very little personal that I share. Yes, I know on Elaine’s birthday or an anniversary I may say something or when the kids or grandkids do something or post something. Alright, when one of you I know have something happen I may comment.

This brings me back to my point. Our country is and has been in a battle over who we are, what we are and thus will be. There are many who voted recently that seem to find socialism as just fine so let’s try it. Socialism is a failed experiment that has never worked in any country that has or is currently operating under its premise. Unfortunately, trying it will have long term effects on our country to which some we will never be able to recover. Insanity is attempting the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. Socialism has never worked and it will not work in the USA.

The First Amendment of the Constitution says:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

As a citizen of these United States, I have the right to be a Christian and I have the right to express my belief and to join with others in so doing. I have the right that if my rights are not provided for to petition those in authority to correct the issue. That is not just my right but are all of our right.

It appears by what is happening today that there are companies, media and politicians who are using their rights to infringe on my rights. Now please note, that a company does not have the same rights that an individual has but that is for another time and place. Not mine but someone else’s.

The thought that I ponder in going forward do I continue to stay on these platforms in order to use them to express my views? For me, it is certainly about encouraging you as a fellow believer. More importantly it is sharing the Gospel with those who need to know that Jesus Christ saves.

‭‭John‬ ‭3:16-17‬ ‭NLT‬‬ ““For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.”

God sent His Son to save you and as Paul said:

“If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.” Romans‬ ‭10:9-10‬ ‭NLT‬‬

So you need to know that God loves you and that His Son is who you must believe in and you will have eternal life with Him in His heaven. What a gift and what a Savior.

I think I have my answer. When the day comes that they take me down on a social media site, or Jesus comes back,or God calls me home, I will follow the encouragement found in 1 Peter 3:15-...be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

With all of this said I am asking you as a valued friend to put in your browser this website ElbertNasworthy.com/blog and go to it everyday. See what has been added as that will begin happening now with more frequency.

A thought to ponder,

Elbert Nasworthy
